We had our start by fulfilling the need for engineering and sprinkler design services following the enactment of the City of Vancouver by-law which mandated sprinklers for all new residential and institutional buildings in 1990. Vancouver was one of the first municipalities throughout North America to require the installation of sprinklers in all new single family dwellings and duplexes. Chris Finch working in tandem with his uncle, Trevor Finch, P.Eng., were able to help homeowners and builders navigate the unprecedented city requirements. With Glen Visser, P.Eng., joining as an engineer, Sureworks developed a robust design process for delivering sprinkler solutions in the strict regulatory environment. Over the years, we established ourselves as a trusted and reliable engineering firm delivering timely fire sprinkler solutions in all building types in regions throughout British Columbia. Sureworks Engineering Inc. was formally incorporated in 2020 and continues to be a leader in the local fire suppression field.
